About Me

Hi there!  My name is Kim and I'm a NYC based Registered Dietitian (R.D.) Nutritionist with a B.S. in Dietetics from SUNY College at Oneonta.  I currently work as a Clinical Dietitian at Queens Boulevard Extended Care Facility, where I develop therapeutic diets for both acute rehabilitation and geriatric residents.  I completed an extensive clinical internship program through the North Shore LIJ Health System, where I provided medical nutrition therapy for patients with a variety of medical conditions, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders and renal disease.

My Philosophy
I have a realistic and individualized approach to nutrition counseling and understand that food and nutrition is a very complex science.  What works for your best friend, sister-in-law, co-worker or neighbor might not be best for you.  I work with clients to develop a meal plan that not only works for your individual lifestyle, but includes your favorite foods and indulgences.  Eating should not be about depriving ourselves of foods, but rather nourishing our bodies with the nutrients we need to live a happy and healthy life. I help clients appreciate how the foods we consume impact our physical and mental well being.

In addition to being a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist,  I am also a runner and fitness enthusiast.  I've completed four half-marathons and am currently training for my first 26.2! I wasn't always this active and am no stranger to dieting or weight management issues, so I can relate to the frustration and roadblocks my clients often face.

A little while back on my journey to becoming a Registered Dietitian, I started PB&Push-ups as a way to put down my thoughts on various food, health and nutrition topics.  It has since developed into a place where I can share my adventures in running and health with family, friends and (of course) complete strangers!
